Elisabeth Stoschka

Currently I and my family live in the mountains, enjoying quiet and simplicity. Nature is vital to me and a tremendous source of inspiration. Becoming and being a mother of three children has been an unique process. Living in different cultures and traveling added lots of colour to my life. As an artist I am using my maiden name Stoschka to keep my privacy. Stoschka means ribbon.

Textiles

Textiles have always been a great interest of mine. The word ´textile´ contains text and tile. `Text` I connect with stories and `tiles` I relate to the fragments that can be built with. Every garment or cloth has it´s own story, it´s own language, and it´s own qualities. The theme of connection is inherent to textiles and reveals on many layers. Textiles can awaken a great variety of perceptions and associations.

What I try to do is to create with these elements
and make their sound visual.
Early Works

My early works were mainly composed in the holy halls of Goldsmiths College, University of London, – a space where I experienced great joy, success, fullfillment and recognition.
